This has the effect of decreasing offsets and, thus, increasing the amount of VCF awards. The VCF has further revised its policy with regard to non-economic loss claims for non-cancer conditions, and our ability to appeal those awards. Because your VCF1 non-economic loss exceeds the maximum amount allowed by law for those conditions ($90,000), no additional losses will be awarded. If we do not receive the documents necessary to calculate economic loss, or if the documents are not submitted in a timely manner, we may issue an award for non-economic loss only.
